Mercedes car calling with bluetooth to any contact number
Adds information to phone call+*31#+ befor the actual phone number not linked to the caller information.
Mercedes Benz EQA 250 (2021) model.

The incomplete filling of the bug report template makes it bit hard to understand how it is related to the title and if the actual problem is with SFOS or with the car?
For me the car bluetooth calling causes that it adds the call information to look like +*31#+358Actualphonenumber .
Its wierd that it even does that does the other bluetooth devices do the same?
Maybe the car wants the receiver of the call to know who is calling?
Afaik, *31# does the opposite: it hides the number from the receiving end.
Is that a feature of that Mercedes software maybe?
A quick search suggests that if you have your number set as hidden, i.e. not shown to the recipient, the*31# prefix can be used to disable that per call. A #31# would do the opposite, i.e. hide the number per call, if it’s normally shown.
Does the car have some options in the phone connectivity settings regarding the number visibility / caller ID / what ever it might be called?
As far as I know, Sailfish side does not do these kind of things.
Am been trying to understand why it happens, but maybe it can be related to the wheel answer/ deny call button? These dont happen on Android or Iphone when i use it on the car.
Also i noticed that the phone doesnt automatically connect to the car bluetooth am trying to see if the showing the device lets it automatically connect to the car, when bluetooth is hidden it doesnt connect to the car i have to sellect the bluetooth from phone and connect from the car to connect bluethooth.
The car phonebook copies 3 times the contact info to the car contact info with the same name somehow the car doesnt understand the Jolla Phonebook contact infos correctly.
The car doesnt have any settings that would let me “hide” my phone number etc.
I dont understand why it doesn’t also automatically connect to the car so there are some issues connecting to the car bluetoith. Even with setting Bluetooth to show device it doesn’t connect i have to pair both car and phone to get it connecting and it doesn’t usually connect with first attempt
