Cant download attachments

HARDWARE: Jolla C2 - s19mps - s19mps - 1.0.0.49 - aarch64
UI LANGUAGE: English (UK) (user: en_GB, os: en_GB.utf8)
REGRESSION: yes (since: 5.0.0.55 - n/a)

DESCRIPTION:

It is not possible to view attachments as download fails, or is not even started

PRECONDITIONS:

Mail with docx

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1.receive a mail with docx
2.click on attachment to download it
3. nothing hsppens

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Downloadef docx and open it in fmdoc app

ACTUAL RESULTS:

Nothing

MODIFICATIONS:

  • Patchmanager: yes
  • OpenRepos: yes
  • Chum: yes
  • Other: none specified

Works fine for me (10 III, gmail).
Is this limited to docx? What account type and provider is it?

Two different tried: mailbox and gmx and gmx im using for years

No same with pdf
i have in total 3 accounts

It is working for me. Never had issues. Phone: 10III

The only problem I ever had with this is that it isn’t very clear where the attachment is downloaded to and it isn’t (always) automagically opened.

Check ~/Downloads (or Documents)

Once downloaded you can see it in list of documents in doc app or ??
second, on forward i am asked if i want to download attachments and if i say yes, ot does download them

I have no Mail subfoldwr in downloads …
What is the exact spelling please ?

And please share the accessrights too

Does not work yet for all messages maybe due to missing subfolders but at least for some
so removed nail_attachments folder was the reason

Also check the contents of ~/.qmf/mail and ~/.qmf/database.

It may help to delete/move the .qmf folder and sync the mails again - or it might make things worse, so be careful.

To complete the information provided by @nephros, I may mention that for new mails, every attachment is directly downloaded into ~/Downloads/ and not anymore in the complicated mail_attachments subfolder.

Then i need to reopen rhe issue.
Today could not download a pdf again
to my gmx address

Stupid reinstall did not help
Cleaning the .qmf folder woukd lead to empty accounts, after syncing i can click on pdf and see it gets downloded but not openend.
It is not in dowbloads folder neither

Maybe a problem with encoding in the name ? Can you provide the skeleton of the email ? Look into ~/.qmf/mail and grep for a part of the subject for instance. It will give you the file that store this skeleton. Mask the email addresses and may you then paste it here ?

I will, but is varioud mails from school, visa etc.

trying to srart email from cmdline with/out sailjail and fail

Don’t worry too much about private data, the skeleton contains only metadata, no data. So it’s just necessary to obfuscate the email addresses.

From command line, it should work. Don’t forget to devel-su -p before, so it can access the account database.
