Cannot switch to front camera - camera apps and messenger video calls

REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often): started few weeks ago, maybe during the update to 4.1.0 from 4.0.1?
BUILD ID = OS VERSION (Settings > About product): 4.1.0.24
HARDWARE (XA2, X10, X10 II, …): XA2
UI LANGUAGE: Swedish
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?): Maybe

DESCRIPTION:

First I thought this was a bug that plagued only video calls, like Whatsapp.
Cannot say unfortunately when this started. Didn’t notice that it was a system wide thing before now.
When I start a video call, Whatsapp greys out the “switch camera button” and defaults to front facing camera, so not possible to have video calls.

When I open Jolla Camera, “switch button” can be operated, but shows always front facing camera, won’t change to the other. However, the ratio does change! I have in settings: front camera; 4:3 and back camera; 16:9.

I installed advanced camera app to test, but that app greys out the “switch camera button”.

Maybe broken camera component? Maybe a bug in the OS?

PRECONDITIONS:

Cannot say unfortunately

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Can I debug somehow the camera or retrieve some logs about it?

Still cannot after factory reset, so maybe this is a hardware problem…

I have the same problem. The only workaround i found is to use the android app : Open Camera.

Happens to me from time to time. A restart solves it.
