Can I change my email address in profile w/o creating a new user?

There are some cases where we want to use another email address for online forums (which can result in a lot of emails every day) like it was possible to do on together.jolla .com without changing the email address on account.jolla .com (which is used also for more important emails like orders on the Jolla shop and support tickets). I requested to bring back this feature here: Cannot change email address on forum.sailfishos.org
I’ve changed my mail there after my forum account was created. Now I have my old mail here and cannot change that and my new mail account on account.jolla.com. Is that a bug?
You need to log out and log in again in order to get the email address updated on the forum.
