Camera App shows test picture

Hello,

today I got my Jolla C2. Unfortunately the camera app shows only test picture. Is this SW or HW issue?

Any tips appreciated.

Sorry to hear that. Could you check if you have a similar issue as in this thread? The camera does not work on new C2, is it hardware error or software glitch?

Hello, thanks for your reply! This is exaclty the same error. I upgraded to newest Sailfish “Tempella” but this did not help. However I installed the Scanner-App and with it the camera works. So it looks more a SW issue.

To fix your camera issue, please enable Developer mode to get the Terminal etc. if you haven’t done yet (remember your password and enable SSH in case for debugging future issues) and follow this thread:

Specifically the commands provided by Keto (Nov. 2025) should make it work again.

Ok, after a factory reset, Camera App is working now.

Great, thank you! I will make myself familiar with this command line stuff. It seems that gstreamer seems to be the bad guy.
