C2 screen doesn't respond first boot

The device arrived today.
I immediately put it to charge because I read the post about the first launch.
When I put it on the charger, it turned on by itself and the language selection started.
The first setup took place without selecting the Wi-Fi network. I read that this was a problem for many people, I was also forced to move on because there was no way to select the network.
As a precaution, I went into the settings. Here, I tried to take all the safety measures so that the device does not shut down. Turning on developer mode was unsuccessful, bluetooth and SIM operations did not work either. At that point, I already guessed that I was walking in similar shoes as the others. (for them, the Wi-Fi network selection was the point that failed).

Since every step seemed to fail, after a bit of thinking I thought the best thing to do was to leave it on the charger and reboot the device to see if it would boot. It turned on, I entered my code, but the loading screen spins non-stop, I think it’s completely stuck.
Presumably, I am also one of those to whom the device was sent in the very first round, and this may be one of the reasons why I noticed a similar error to the first commenters.

I am confident that it can be fixed without sending it back, I will try to follow all the steps I receive from Jolla in the future.

Also stuck on the language selection screen, can’t get my usb mouse to work (at least clicking randomly did nothing at all) :slightly_frowning_face:

The cursor is not appearing on the language selection screen so only way of knowing if it works is to try clicking and dragging. The cursor is showing in the home screen after initial setup.

Turns out my mouse was the problem, used another one and it worked, but gave that “Could not encrypt user data” error or something, so I guess I won’t reboot it until someone figures out how to fix it.

Minor breakthrough. After trying to enable developer mode (won’t work), terminal is actually available to set as a shortcut in the lockscreen settings. That way you can get to the terminal.
The terminal application doesn’t seem to work with mouse input though, and I did not find any way to get past the welcome screen. I did press ctrl+alt+delete which rebooted the phone so now I’m stuck at decrypting. But the touch screen is responsive again

Maybe someone else is able to get into the terminal.

Same here Got home my Jolla C2 phone and first boot was fine until it Power down because of low battery. i have been able to go Thure the start up guide with a mouse… but when i restated the device again its just stands and spinning after i put in my security pin.

i had the first Jolla phone… and that was never problems with… not like this…

Maybe the issue with no responding screen have with you have connected a charger.

So it’s been a week and my new Jolla phone is still a paperweight. Any estimate when we get a resolution for this?

I’ve received one today and got the same issue of non responsive screen.
As someone mentioned the first boot went okay till I entered 6 digits code, the device started encryption (I think), then shutdown because of lack of battery. second boot, I cannot do anything at language choice.
I tried to connect mouse and keyboard via usb-c hub. mouse worked to choose a language but it doesn’t recognise the keyboard. and mouse cannot ‘tap’ “next”.

On simu press and hold a swipe does work with mouse

" It turned on, I entered my code, but the loading screen spins non-stop, I think it’s completely stuck."
After several attempts, I got the same now.
So far no solution…

Hello,
" It turned on, I entered my code, but the loading screen spins non-stop, I think it’s completely stuck."
This describes my same situation.
After entering the pin, it loads for hours without response. I can shutdown it pressing for long time the power button.
Help please

You’ll most likely have to return your C2 to Jolla so they can fix it, you can submit a ticket on Zendesk (select the category “Request for repair and guidance: Jolla C2”) and they will reply asap.

Seems so that if you got this bug, the phone needs to be sent back for repair.
