They’re not even stopping shoplifters nowadays, so why would one bother reporting anything?
Do you realize that doesn’t change the fact that they once attempted such a project and failed to deliver? It means they could have done the same thing again, and there would always be an excuse if you looked hard enough. But they didn’t, and it seems like the devices are slowly making their way into the hands of the community - which is what I’ve been celebrating.
To be fair, this was perhaps decent choice for Jolla, a small business. They could not bet too much e.g. for the hardware. But I’d be much happier if they came up with at least mid-high hardware for much smoother experience.
I love SFOS UX so much although C2 hardware is very basic and therefore is quite slow.
Have you tried the latest release 5.0.0.55/61 on the c2? On my experience there is a huge improvement, especially in case of android app performence but overall stability as well. The phone is really smooth, there is nothing to complain about.
Me to! I think C2 is back to what SFOS should be. Stable and definitely fast enough. I would like something to protect camera lenses though. They scratch against the table.
And I took the chance to order one! Interesting times!
I feel kind of nostalgic here, because it’s more or less exactly 10 years ago when I bought my first Jolla Phone 1 and fell in love (uncureable)
Use C2 since a month as daily.
After my gs290 died i had live two months with vollaOs.
Well all the apps do work, but that s it.
It was a detox program for me
I reckon C2 is basically smooth enough until you do sonething with browser. Opening web services takes 5 times longer than my Pixel. I found thru speedtest that C2 wifi is almost alwayd a half of speed as other phones / tablets I own.
Well no. I am not trying to compare apples and pears. I just wish if C2 was at least thr latest mid-range hardware. If the web experience is better and it covers lack of apps, SFOS can be daily driver for more people. I’ve just been dreaming one day SFOS is one of major mobile OSes…
Imho: this question was asked 3 months ago. At that time it might or even was correct, but as of today: the answer is a no

Where I live, bigger libraries do 3d-prints for people for small payment (to cover the filament costs). You should definitely check if you local library offers something similar.
A search for for instance 3d utskriftstjänst gives several alternatives in Sweden. I tuned the dimensions in the model to a tight fit printed on my old prusa I3mk2, but it is pretty accurate so the model should have more or less correct dimensions. I can’t promise that it fits perfectly printed on another printer of course.
I just have to tell how it went out. I uploaded the model and ordered one in grey plastic. What I didn’t do, was to pay enough attention to the very small and obscured note that said…
Model is to small and will be resized by Scale: ×3.7499999441206.
No explanation, no question if I still wanted to order, no nothing but confirmed order.
Personally, I would probably have asked myself if the customer really wanted a 4 times as large end product, or maybe also reacted to the file name (jollaC2cameraguard.stl).
