[C2] "Confirm with security code" regularly prompted in 5.0.0.29

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100% with specific apps
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.29
HARDWARE: Jolla C2
UI LANGUAGE: English
REGRESSION: Yes

DESCRIPTION:

After updating to 5.0.0.29, I am regularly getting Confirm Security Code prompts when launching applications. This has happened with Android apps (like Proton Pass), Hydrogen, Sailtrix.

PRECONDITIONS:

Unknown

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Having a C2 with an abovementioned app installed running .21. Maybe log in to Sailtrix beforehand.
  2. Update to .29
  3. Start encountering these errors.

EXPECTED RESULT:

No prompt, credentials remembered from first boot since I have already authenticated.

ACTUAL RESULT:

I get prompted when launching several applications. Seems to happen both at launch and closure of the app.

MODIFICATIONS:

OpenRepos. Encountered issue before installing Chum GUI + repo. Same deal afterwards of course.

And you say it happens with just some apps? Not all of them?

Is it always the same ones?

I assume it is always with certain apps, but I would like to know if it ever happens to other apps?

Does this mean every Android app, or just a specific selection of those as well?

Haven’t experienced it with any other of my installed apps. I’m able to most reliably reproduce it with Sailtrix. Video below. Is this dialog one from Sailfish OS itself or from Sailtrix and just happened to have a really long delay like shown in the video that manifested in a way that’d look like it was triggering from other apps as well?

It’s a Sailfish dialog, but it’s caused by Sailtrix, there’s a significant delay and it pops up twice, also on other devices and other OS versions. It doesn’t even matter if you enter the code or not, Sailtrix starts anyway. It’s Sailtrix that’s broken.
