[C2] Browser OpenSearch search engines do not appear

DESCRIPTION:

Previously browsing to an OpenSearch enabled web site would add it to the search engine selection in the Browser settings.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open Browser
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Check Search Engine list β†’ 4 default engines offered
  4. Browse to DuckDuckGo.com
  5. Go to Settings
  6. Same defaults are offered.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

DDG to be added to selection

ACTUAL RESULTS:

No change in selection

MODIFICATIONS:

  • Patchmanager: no
  • OpenRepos: no
  • Chum: no
  • Other: none specified

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

This is the C2 stock firmware as-built after initial boot.

For me, on 5.0.0.21, i needed to make a search before the option started being offered.

Ah yes, after a reboot the option appears!

Having to perform a search actually makes sense, even though it’s a bit unintuitive.

So, NotABug. And solved. Sorry for the noise.
