Since the upgrade my C2-phone to SailfishOS 5.0.0.76 last week, I also experienced some unusual battery drains in the morning:
When picking up the device for the first time after waking up, in -at least two times the last 5 days- it would suddenly sound a ‘low-battery” alarm.
First time I left it unplugged the when going to bed because it indicated the power level was higher than some 80%. The morning after the low-power alarm went off and it indicated a battery level of 8%. When plugging the power cord in, it also seemed to be siugnificanly warmer than the ambient temperature, but after a couple of hours the battery was recharged completely again.
Yesterday night I also left it unplugged with the battery at around 100%.
When I picked it up the first time this morning, it beeped loudly and shut down, showing a battery level of 2%.
Did not notice a higher temperature this time (but probably some power safe mechanism already killed any energy intensive process before it dropped down to 2%)
Since the phone powered off, I don’t have the logs before the last boot.
