Browser says about:blank is 'not secure'

REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often): 100%
BUILD ID = OS VERSION (Settings > About product): 4.3.0.12
HARDWARE (XA2, X10, X10 II, …): X10II
UI LANGUAGE: English
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?): ?

DESCRIPTION:

When you tell the browser to go to about:blank, it shows a warning triangle in the URL bar that, when tapped, says the connection is not secure. It shouldn’t show this message because about:blank is a built-in page. Other ‘about:’ pages don’t seem to be affected, at least as far as I can tell.

PRECONDITIONS:

Open the browser.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Enter ‘about:blank’ in the browser’s address bar.

EXPECTED RESULT:

Page and address bar are blank.

ACTUAL RESULT:

Page is blank, but address bar complains about connection not being secure.

Same happens in the desktop version on Vivaldi.

On my Jolla C, address bar says “Loading” infinite.
Checking the about:about, the about:blank do not exist any more.

Thanks for the report @nthn. I’m still able to reproduce this on 4.4.0.72 (ESR78) on an Xperia 10 II, so I’ve created an internal report about it and tagged it here as tracked. If there are updates to share on it, I’ll do my best to post them back here.
