I think the timing is perfect.
Still considering to get myself an x86 Surface and install linux on it, why not that instead?

P.S. Hardware kill-switches are a must - an awesome job!

P.S.2 ssd slot, removable battery and a 3.5 inch jack - impressive!

Rob Braxman has a long history of explaining in his weekly videos on YouTube and Odysee the way personal data is harvested and used by tech companies and governments. Well worth watching.

I’m actually running a Microsoft Surface Pro 9 with Linux as my daily driver Laptop. I don’t even have dual-boot with Windows, just Linux and it works perfectly. I use the pen a lot and it works like a charm.

Also, I deployed two Microsoft Surface Go devices with Linux for my family which also run really well with Linux.

I’m intrigued! Just one question… what Linux dist are you running?

I’ve been running NixOS on it for one and a half years now, before that I used KDE Neon.

But it doesn’t really matter what distro you use, depending on the model it might only be important that you install the surface-kernel
