I received two Jolla phones with my order and they are both broken. One of them didn’t want to connect to WiFi, and after a few reboots and retries, it ended up unable to even boot. The second one cannot make or receive calls, it says “Problem with network”. I raised two support tickets, but let me just say, I am not happy quite yet.
I think the first problem has occured a few time, rarely but you are not the first.
The second one sounds not common. Did the phone ask for your Sim-Pin? Did you try the other simslot?
I don’t have a Sim-Pin, it’s just unlocked. However, mobile data was working. I tried the other SIM-slot, same issue, I tried disabling VoLTE, same issue. ![]()
Some posts already mentioned that also. An advice was setup with sim but I dont think its necessary.
Do a factory reset and setup again. Most of the people was able to setup wifi after the factory reset
The WiFi issue sadly persisted after the factory reset.
Speaking of which, I’d like to factory reset the phone with the WiFi issue (that now cannot boot) and see if the SIM card maybe works there, but the instructions on how to factory reset it with the buttons don’t work - most likely because they assume an Android bootloader. Is there a way to reset the Jolla Phone with just the buttons?
Thanks a lot. I tried factory resetting the working phone and setting it up with the SIM card, and now I can make and receive calls!
No sim pin? I think you have to put sim pin first time setting device then setting no sim-pin? So is your simcard activated then at all?
Great thats working now… Ill hope you enjoy it ![]()

When you disable the SIM PIN, this status is normally saved on the SIM card or in the eSIM profile, not just on the current smartphone. Therefore, the SIM PIN remains disabled even if you insert the SIM card into another phone. In my case, the Jolla C2 disabled the SIM PIN, so the JP2026 doesn’t ask for a SIM PIN.
If you have an oddball frequency, put in a SIM - or otherwise ensure your regdom is set.
Can i assume the other phone can use wifi just fine?
Yes, the other phone can use WiFi just fine. And, I have become unable to boot the phone that has the WiFi issue, after some tinkering around it ended up getting stuck right after I enter my unlock code.
