Bluetooth connection to hands-free car kit crashes when call is ended

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100 %
OS VERSION: ≤ 5.0.0.67
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 II
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: No

DESCRIPTION:

The hands-free car kit fails to notice that a phone call was ended by the other party. It proceeds to display the phone call UI for about 30 seconds after the call was ended. After this time the Bluetooth connection is killed (connection timeout?) and the phone will be disconnected by the car kit.

PRECONDITIONS:

A Bluetooth connection is set up to a hands-free car kit.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Connect with the hands-free car kit using Bluetooth
  2. Receive a phone call
  3. Pick up the call using the car kit (not the phone)
  4. Let the other party end this phone call

EXPECTED RESULT:

The ‘end call sound’ is played, the car kit notices that the call ended and proceeds to play anything that was playing before the phone call.

ACTUAL RESULT:

The ‘end call sound’ is not played, the car kit won’t notice that the call ended and proceeds to display the phone call UI. You are also unable to end the phone call by yourself using the car’s UI. The phone call UI is displayed for about 30 seconds after the call was ended by the other party. After this time the car kit notifies that the phone was disconnected and reconnected afterwards.

MODIFICATIONS:

None.
