Bluetooth connection to car does not work. Music is not sent to car by time to time and I can't voice during a phone call

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
OS VERSION: 4.4.0.64
HARDWARE: Xperia 10 III
UI LANGUAGE: French
REGRESSION:

DESCRIPTION:

When connecting the XPERIA 10 III to my car (Ford SMAX) through bluetooth, I’m facing several problems.
First, by time to time, music is not sent to the car. It means that when playing a podcast with different apps (podQcast or Podcatcher), nothing can be heard. I have to swtich bluetoot off, on, restart the car to make it work. That’s not clear exactly what is going on.
In almost 100% of time, when someone calls me or I call someone, I cannot hear the speaker. People can hear me but I cannot.

That bluetooth profile is registered as car kit.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Connect the Xperia to your car
  2. Try to play music from a podcast app
  3. Try to phone someone

EXPECTED RESULT:

I expect to hear the sound in my car

ACTUAL RESULT:

When calling, I can"t hear anyone.
When playing a podcast, sometimes it works, not always

MODIFICATIONS:

Nothing.

Does audio work in general in those situations? It sounds likely that some service got killed because of the oom killer. Maybe dmesg -w | egrep "lowmemorykiller|oom_reaper|^ {19}.*|Out of memory" from here gives some hints

I have different issues with my car (Citroën e-C4 2022), phone is Sony Xperia 10 Dual SIM (two sims installed, SIM1 as primary, both are in use).

  • Incoming calls: Car might sound the alarm as well as the phone does, but I have never been able to answer the call with car’s audio.
  • Outgoing calls: I can call people. But for some reason the SIM2 is used although SIM1 is set to be primary. SIM2 is used every time, no exceptions.
  • Pairing with car audio can be slow, mostly it works ok. (automatic pairing when turning the car on).

Haven’t tried playing music.
Call history and contacts are shown, no issues there. Will post proper issue report when I gather enough energy to do some logging.

Hi same issue with Xperia III and 4.5.0.16. Impossible to use Bluetooth in a car.

First to listen to media using A2DP profile i have to initiate and cancel a call otherwise it does not works.

And after a couple of minutes (this is highly variable) it stops and bluetooth connection is lost and retrieve after few seconds.

Hi,

Any progress from your side ?
I’m facing same kinf of issues on a Xperia 10 II with Hyundai car’s bluetotth phone calls :

  • I can hear people but they don’t hear me
  • random bluettoth disconnection in the middle of a call

But playing music with the same connexion is perfectly stable.
Sometimes (less than 5% of time) the music’s thumbnail is displayed by the car.

All is working perfectly fine from an android phone.
Does Sailfisf OS bluetooth functionnalties respect standard BT ?

Best Regards,

Miracle has happened. After update to 4.5.0.24 I have received a call via car’s bluetooth. I was able to answer to it via car’s handsfree and it went just fine, no issues. The sad thing is it was a unique experience, haven’t repeated ever since.
