Black screen during phonecall

DESCRIPTION:

Phone screen does not wake up turning phone call, when I take phone away from ear.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Start phone call
  2. Cover proximity sensor
  3. Realese sensor

EXPECTED RESULTS:

Screen wakes up when proximity sensor is released.

ACTUAL RESULTS:

Sometimes screen does not wake up to end call. When I press power button, screen wakes up and when I realese powerbutton, it turn black again. I have to wait until other side ends the call.

MODIFICATIONS:

  • Patchmanager: no
  • OpenRepos: yes
  • Chum: yes
  • Other: none specified

I also experienced this sometimes.
It’s very annoying, making hanging up a challenge…

Ocasionally I notice that too. On C2 and back then on older models. Most of the times (in worst cases fast double or triple) pressing power button helps.

I experienced this issue when activating the LPM (Low Power Mode Display like this Jolla C2 first time use instructions - #94 by nthn) on my C2. The display stays black after a call even when the proximity sensor isn’t covered. I turned it off again, and everything is working properly now.

I have the same problem:
REPRODUCIBILITY: 100% (!)
OSVERSION: 5.0.0.71
HARDWARE: Jolla C2
UI lang: ger (o2german simcard)

I press power button and while doing that I press VolUp or VolDown and than the screen stays on.
Proximitysensor checked with CSD-Tools → it works.

On my C2 I noticed that using CSD helps to unstuck sensor demon.

In other words: CSD is not only great for testing the hardware itself but also in this situation.
