The trademark owner is Jolla Oy, a Finnish company. The trademark reference provided here is the USPTO registration for JOLLA, Registration Number 4680329, based on international registration number 1195486.
So, how did you figure out it was from Georgia? And what surprises me is, if they put just a little more effort into the site, we wouldn’t even be able to tell the difference
Did bit of a “host” IP tracking, they were (proxy) hosted like about x6 sites “in open” as in Georgia at the time… which doesn’t mean much, but as you can spoof IP, most site hosting services allow is these days.
TBF host services “dropped the ball”, allowing those free, next to free promotional site registers to use almost anonymously. Top that, the registrar didn’t even have a direct working contact number to contact on and was asking to register, in order to submit online form/report- very much given an opportunity for some snot, that barely speaks English (mistakes in wording), just copy-pasted AI made template and… (was tempted “to buy something”), just to be able to trace transaction afterwards… but it would’ve taken days.
wouldn’t surprise me, if somebody had paid money, when/ if they’ll realise, will they ever get any of it back?
as @PolatBirdal says, it won’t be long, before this sort of a hosting negligence, site cloning/copying will become more sophisticated and succsesfull.
