Are there banking apps that do not complain anymore about the rooted device with the 5.0 update of sfos?

I have three ( all Swedish), and none of them do. But of course, I use microG, so I wouldn’t know without it.

I’m possibly wrong, but I think you did something wrong with the install procedure, like doing this before that. Then again, some apps just don’t work with AAS.

It used to work but the app needed an update to continue functioning and that was the end of the joy unfortunately.

Then it can be a way for the bank/app to stop further use outside of the iOS/Android environment. That is, also virtual android.
I can’t say for sure of course, but things like that is known to have happened with other banking apps.
I think you’ll need help from the pro’s to sort it out. Maybe someone else that is also using the same app.

It seems to be a difficult problem with no solution for the moment. I won’t file a bug report as you can find others with the same AAS device rooted problem. This is a wait and hope situation I’m afraid.

Not sure this has to do with MicroG as the Postfinance banking app used to work but an update to it made it stop working claiming the phone was rooted which is true, it is rooted. So the “root” cause is deep in the system and most probably not related to MicroG.
Maybe a new thread should be started with this “rooted device” problem but I’m sure there is enough noise in many threads about it to not add yet another same problem thread.

I think that it detects that the bootloader is unlocked .

Just edited the wiki to confirm that an updated version of the Postfinance app for the swiss banking app does work although it complains about screen lock and biometry. I’m not sure if it requires MicroG or not as it is installed on my phone.
It would be nice if someone using the app could confirm the need or not for MicroG to be installed.

Can also confirm it says exactly the same message on my phone, freshly flashed with the new 5.0 Sailfish update. Have a Sony XA2 (H313-SingleSIM) with microg installed.
If there’s a chance that we can still use it by installing the google play store and installing the app from it (although I think the result might be the same, might be the detection of androidappsupport that is running in simulation).

Just edited the wiki to report that the Santander UK app works on the current release on the X 10III.

I have MicroG installed, and am only reporting G2 as i haven’t had the time to fully explore the app.

One of the steps when you set up your login requires you to click on a link in an email sent to you. When you do so the OS Choose Browser picker pops up, and you must choose the Santander app to complete registration.

After flashing my C2 to 5.0.0.62 to increase the root size, I no longer have a working OP-Mobiili App. I tried different versions of the App, and also downgraded the microG version (the one that used to work on my C2 before the fastboot flash)…and still no go :frowning_face:
Wondering if I should re-flash again or just let it go … other Bank App (Banxo) is working though

Have you checked that all the boxes are ticked in MicroG Settings? On my Xperia 10, SFOS 5.0 and MicroG 0.3.0 at least OP-Mobiili 70.0.0 works (haven’t tested any of the newer versions), so might be just matter of finding the right versions of everything or it is the difference between 32bit and 64bit and might be fubar for now.

Yup, boxes are 100% checked! And OP-Mobiili used to work on my C2 with latest Sailfish version…all same, but now with a reflashed phone and larger root size, no go :thinking:

Re-flashing with 5.0.0.43 is ending with similar issue, no matter if I install microg or not…tried several combinations, no luck. Wondering if something has changed on AppSupport between original (C2) 5.0 version and newer versions. Thinking to contact Jolla Support now :slightly_frowning_face:

On Xperia10 / 5.0.0.62, CaixaBankNow doesn’t work. It reports:
(Caixa Logo)
App not available
Huawei devices with HMS cannot access CaixaBankNow app.
Access CaixaBankNow from an Android mobile with Google, an iPhone or a PC.

Any ideas?
It’s no joke, there was written ‘Huawei’, but it’s a Xperia 10!

edit: I have set the information in /etc/machine-info to PRETTY_HOSTNAME=“Bastel”
Can this affect something?

You should read this as “without a proprietary Google firmware”. Huawei is the most popular phone without Google firmware hence they use “Huawei” as synonym of a phone without Google crap.
