Backup: Does restoring with using a backup "replaces" the current content of a phone?

Hei,

Quite a small question here, before making a move: So i have a phone i use. Now i had an older backup from a previous phone. I wonder if i “restore my device from this previous backup” will replace the content on my phone? Or it will just add it to current contents?

The wording “restore” from the GUI made me worried a little…

I couldnt find the answer in forum posts either.

Checking the translation tool, I suppose it replaces the saved content.

That is my unfortunate experience too. It also resets your accounts, including your Jolla account, so you have to re-add all passwords.

The built-in backup is more for moving from one phone to another than for daily backups (or rather, the restore is not suited for the daily scenario.)
