Audio from android the same quality as from sailfishos?

So i have a question regarding the audio quality. I have a premium youtube subscription and i use youtube music since there is no equivalent in sailfishos. My question is the quality of audio from android apps worse than when using for example the sailfishos browser to browse and play music from the site it self? I am wondering since is basically emulating android.

Surely the answer would be to go and try it! Your ears are different from anyone else`s.

If you mean that there is no app for youtube premium, you are right afaik. But there is work on an app for Tidal, if that counts as an equivalent for you: https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/tidal-app-discussion/16657

But maybe I misunderstood and you are looking for a way to access youtube, in that case my link doean’t help, of course

Not sure if the browser and the android app use the same codec for audio.
AFAIK the audio quality between a native sailfish OS app and an android running inside the android app support unter sailfish OS should be the same.

Youtube always offers all sorts of different codecs and bitrates to all users, from lowest to highest, logged in or not.

No SFOS app performs any transcoding on that.

Both use Pulseaudio-Sink. I didn’t notice any difference when using native Music-Player oder Android-App (Spotify for example). They sound the same good quality.
