AppSupports disabled still restarts on bootup (duplicate of 20633)

DESCRIPTION:

AppSupport is turned off and disabled to start on boot up, still starts after bootup

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Go to settings and stop appsupport
  2. Disable appsupport start up on bootup button
  3. reboot the device
  4. Unlock the device go to settings and check the appsupport status

EXPECTED RESULTS:

The staus of appsupport should be stopped

ACTUAL RESULTS:

The status of appsupport is running

MODIFICATIONS:

  • Patchmanager: no
  • OpenRepos: yes
  • Chum: yes
  • Other: none specified

I get the impression that opening the appsupport setting page somehow triggers appsupport to start

I think only mods can mark as a duplicate/merge topics. Since you add another data, somewhat different, data point I think merging would make sense.

Maybe you could just copy-paste your report as a reply in my thread, and then maybe we could try to delete things here? That would save a round-trip to Jolla staff, who no doubt are pretty busy atm.

I do not think I can do much on that now, I’ve edited the title and added a duplicate to your #20633 issue.

I get the impression the issue is in the settings app when you try to access the AppSupport page somehow triggers the container to start up.

Come to think of it, you could also mark your own reply above as Solution. That should flag the report as dealt with.
