Overlay application crash the device, like battery overlay or screenshot2, solved by reboot only
(Please ALWAYS attach relevant data such as logs, screenshots, etc…)
Well, not exactly crash, but it seems like the compositor straight out ignores the alpha layer, but it doesn’t block the user input, at least for Tint Overlay.
Luckily the pulley menus give haptic feedback, so closing tintoverlay is not a big problem.
This is very-very sad 
Please uninstall all my overlay applications before upgrading to 3.4
Update Aliendalvik Control to 9.3.0-2 or later before upgrading to 3.4, removed onehand control helper

Unfortunately, I already updated and am not able to enter GUI again.
During the update process a message appeared like ‘Something went wrong, please try again later. REBOOT’.
After reboot, I have no GUI (only some kind of flickering white/black a few times).
ssh and devel-su into the phone are working.
Is there a list of potential overlay applications? Any suggestions?

I solved it with ‘pkcon update; version --dup’
Now I am back at version 3.3.0.16 and give the upgrade another try.
Phonehook causes this blackout as well.
That was exactly my case
Update failed.
Reboot and flashing white screen.
“pkcon update” was enough for my XA2+ finished the update and as soon as the required packages installed the screen came up.
