Application exPhone App

Good morning,

I have a question for the community. Has anyone ever used an app like exPhone (Open Store) or something similar on their Jolla phone? I couldn’t find anything in the Jolla Store. Thanks!

There was Phone Hook, I have no idea, if it still works. You won’t find anything on the Jolla Store, because needed services are probably banned there

By the way, the author of your example app also develops apps for sailfish OS, he is involved in the development of amazfish as far as I know. Maybe you can ask him, if this app could be ported to sailfish

If the functionality you’re looking for is just to block phone numbers so your phone doesn’t ring when they call, you can just do that by pressing and holding the number in your call list, and selecting the option to block the number. No extra software needed.

It is really quite bad form to say “i want something similar to” and just link without explaining. Why would people here have knowledge about or care to research apps for other platforms just to answer a question?

There’s no way anyone could explain what it does better than the (very short!) description by the author on the GitHub page, which the user kindly provided. You’re tilting at windmills.

They could and should just have said it is a call blocking app.
Come to think of it, they should just have searched for that and found the answer - no new thread required.

Thank you so much for the two really helpful pieces of information. If you receive a call from one of these numbers (it’s exclusively from fake numbers, and the trend is increasing), you can easily block them using the block number function. Yes, I’ll have to look into using an app for that. Thanks for the tip. You can already store known fake numbers in such an app. These are often shared in online communities.

Otherwise, I simply took the liberty of asking experienced Sailfish users if they have any information on the topic. Until now, I’ve only used Ubuntu/Ubuntu Touch, and now I’m new to Sailfish. If such questions in a community “annoy” someone, they don’t have to reply. In any case, I find the exchange with other users worldwide wonderful… Thank you!
