App request: native WhatsApp - A New Hope™?

Last time I checked, Franz is simply an electron app. Basically it opens each chat’s own website in an independent tab, isolated tab. It’s not different than opening multiple tabs in Firefox and using Multi-Account Container so that you can log, e.g., multiple accounts of Microsoft Teams.

So if we decide that route, we could simply leverage that:

And either run whatsapp web in a browser tab, or use a dedicated separate browser-app (like the log-in portal).

This would have all the same limitations as running a browser (no logs, no saved photos, etc.)

Yeah, damn the statists, peak-socialism with their damn private-public-relations. I am also more or less forced to use wtfapp for my business as all the partners use it.

I’ve been trying wtfapp (thanks apozaf!) on the updated browser on the pinephone. It can work, but if I set it as a bookmark and add to grid, it then opens in mobile mode. I have to then reset to desktop mode, correct the address from www.wtf to web.wtf and wait for it to load. I looked through about:config to see if I could find a way to make desktop the default but didn’t find anything. Maybe someone more expert can help. Or maybe simply changing the useragent would do it?

It may be that the Whatsapp for Business API could be used to make a free client. Possibly not encrypted e2e, so you can boo your friends:)
