sms backup & restore to be able to import your Android sms into SFOS, there are only scripts for conversion and they are not really end user friendly… ![]()
OK, I’m doubling my gratitude to 2 keys, as one needs to have a backup. ![]()
Did someone mention a working Nextcloud file sync already? Ideally with an option to limit the sync to selected folders?
Those stuff need to be integrated in the OS nextcloud support. Not on separate apps. IMO at least.
From my POV the problems of SFOS are in the OS itself mainly (old components and ways of doing stuff). And this needs to be worked on my Jolla.
Nextclound integration is open source IIRC, so it could be done with community effort.
PS. I agree, neatly integrated solution would be best
A thread of what is missing in the OS -main stuff not apps- must be started i think. Maybe people in the community will be motivated to contribute. Or jolla will prioritize.
Could be good. It (and maybe this thread also) should be wiki type, so those can be added to the original post. Easier to see than 100s message thread
why new apps instead of update and contribute to existing apps?
I wish this would be the way for those apps that have already one version available
Im working on it - Solution will be based on rclone - currently it’s working already for seafile backend, but I will Enhance it for Nextcloud as well:
Unfortunately, other App contribution was declined by Developer, so it will be a New App called „Harbour-Ferry“
P.S. Had to finish Radar App First and will now start working on it in the Next week😅
Ah, just stunning work! Could it be integrated to Nextcloud account add on within the system? Either easily now, or in later date
biggest wish here from my side is “full” featured XMMP client with functionality compared with conversations on android:
- omemo + PGP encryption
- text, voice messages
- file transfer
- sharing of (gps) position
- voice and video calls
- muc support
- Multidevice verification (same account on all my devices with differnet fingeprint)
- offcause background service running
- etc.
i have been looking for a fully fledged xmpp client too. good to know that i can stop searching for now xD
here in forum are some threads about xmpp. There is Sailkaidan in Openrepos, but with some limitations. maybe can be improved
There is one app I would love to see native. I can’t find source so it might be proprietary, but I want it on my Sailfish anyway. Didn’t try the Android one yet.
Got my Jolla Phone and just installed the app. It’s missing a lot of features when compared to photo editors on Android or iOS. Also you cannot even see how the changes you are doing look like while moving the sliders and that alone is making it way too cumbersome to do any actual editing ![]()
Really? I see what is happening and then click the tick to make it happen. It is an app I would like to open automatically after screen shot taken and notification clicked on..
Is there any interest from the community in an application like this?
Personally ive been missing scrcpy on android so wanted to have a way to control the device without it being in my hand (for transparency, with the help of some AI slop), i can see some neat usecases for this.
Audio support, clipboard (Though one direction only), file transfer, desktop keyboard input passing to the phone, gestures work pretty well with the mouse.
Not sure if application like this already exists, i couldnt find one atleast. ![]()

Sailfish uses Telepathy, right?
I got some way through making delta available via telepathy ages ago - lupine/telepathy-padfoot: Deltachat connection manager for Telepathy - telepathy-padfoot - Gitea: Git with a cup of tea - but have stopped using it in the meantime. Might be a handy base for someone though.
