I love my Jolla phone, but one thing that I miss is Smart Launcher, which I used to use for over ten years on my Motorola. Is it doable?
Hi Mikko,
I use my JP2 now for about three weeks as my daily driver. I succeeded in installing most of my old apps I was used to on my iPhone but what I really miss is a Parking app. I could not find a working Parking app for Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. The apps in the Aurora-store like EasyPark/ParkMobile, Yellowbrick etc all require Google Play Services, so that does not work. Maybe you or a sailor from the community would be interested to develop a native parking app for Western Europe? I know that it wonāt be easy because there is also a financial part, but maybe you or an other sailor could extend an existing app like EasyPark with the owner of the app. I am convinced that you will make a lot of sailors very happy.
Good idea. Perhaps you can add this to the list Requesting native SFOS apps from app providers - #35 by brownhamer ?
@brownhamer for info. I am still only seeing my additions to the llst.
I have microG installed, and at least I can get the EasyPark app to start. Donāt know if Germany, Belgium and Netherlands have different version of an app than in Nordic countries, but if you donāt have microG installed yet, you should try that.
MicroG is installed (standard by Jolla), but still the EasyPark app does not install. I donāt receive the confirmation notification, nor by sms nor by mail.
Have you configured MicroG? EasyPark also works for me.
Interesting.. I have also MicroG and EasyPark Finnish version installed. I am using it weekly basis without any problems. Does EasyPark has different versions in different European countries? ![]()
I have just send a request to EasyParc for help.
I think I had the same issue couple of years ago here in Finland, but it was fixed randomly at one point in a update. Maybe all the unsuccessful attempts I made, left some kind of notification in their backend, and the developers got tired of seeing them, because I kept trying to register every now and then to see if the registration process had been fixed.
Oke, looks familiar. But what was finally the solution that made the app work?
I just kept trying to register again and again, maybe once a month or so, and after every time the app was updated. Then after one update to the app, I suddenly received the SMS containing the confirmation code during the registration, so it was something EasyPark had done in their end.
Oke, clear. I have ask EasyPark too for a solution, maybe this way will take less time then month of month trying
. Thx for yr reply.
Easypark also have web version ( https://web.easypark.net ). This year I had some problem with it in Prague (I couldnāt finish some last step if I remember) but I use SailfishOS 5.0 so maybe the problem is older browser in my case.
The webversion also requires the verification code that I still do not receive, so I cannot activate for a parking action.
Iād be happy to have a companion app for the UNA Watch. @Lehtimaeki I saw your post at the UNA Watch developers forum. I am not a developer, but if thereās something I could do to support you let me know. Happy to test things on the bike, but please, no running ![]()
Awesome! I will get it released over the next week.
No runnign needed ![]()
In your video above, you mentioned developing the GPS app on the C2. Will you be receiving the new Jolla phone (..I3C..) also to develop and on the TOH?
No, unfortunately I do not have access to the new Jolla. Would love to have one, but at the moment buying one isnāt really an option ![]()
