App availability (question mainly for for danish users)

Hi everyone!

I’m thinking about getting the new Jolla Phone and moving away from my Fairphone 4, which currently runs /e/OS.
I use Linux on my desktop and work as a software engineer, so Sailfish OS is pretty appealing to me. I’d really like to get away from the Google and Apple ecosystems, but before spending the money, I’d like to know how well it actually works in everyday use.

I’m fairly certain that my main apps will be fine (reddit, signal, etc.) - maybe except Tidal Hifi(?), but I’m very curious regarding some danish apps:

  • Danish MobilePay
  • Lån & Spar’s banking app

I’d hate to switch phones only to find out that MobilePay or my banking app doesn’t work properly.

I’d also be interested in hearing about a few other things:

  • How reliable is Android AppSupport for everyday use?
  • Do most apps work without microG, or is it pretty much essential?
  • How’s the battery life and overall performance?
  • How often does Jolla release Sailfish OS updates, and have they been stable?
  • Are there any privacy downsides to using Android AppSupport?

I’m especially interested in feedback from people actually using the new Jolla Phone, rather than older Xperia devices, as I imagine the experience could be quite different.

Thanks in advance! Any real-world experiences, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.

I would say that its working pretty smoth. Most android apps works whitout any problems at al. Pay with phone is not possible with nfc and fingerprint is not working for android apps, so there is a lot of progres to do still.
