MeeCast shows me ‘No data’ for my locations Wellington, Melbourne, Amsterdam, using weather.com. This started the day before I installed Pispala v 5.1.0.11 on my C2.
The restored Weather app looks lovely and works AOK–but MET Norway doesn’t really do it for me here on the other side of the world (Wellington, New Zealand) and the only other provider is Open Weather, which needs an API.
In MeeCast I’ve recreated my locations using openweathermap.org, which is ok for now. But I’d really like to get weather.com back again. It’s working fine in my desktop browser, and my C2 is getting mobile or wifi data perfectly in the new release; why isn’t it working in the MeeCast app?
I would suggest posting in Openrepos here as you will get a faster response from the developer - Vlad
and Vlad has now fixed the weather.com provider in harbour-meecast-1.12.21-1.aarch64.rpm. All working :
I still have two questions about the weather apps.
- Why does the Weather app only offer MET Norway and OpenWeather, as providers?
(Store says Weather is powered by Foreca, probably some documentation that hasn’t been updated, but Foreca used to be good for my location.)
- Is it possible to show MeeCast weather in Events view? and if so, would this need me to uninstall Weather?
I’m getting good weather information from MeeCast using weather.com, and it would be nice to see that in the Events view. The Weather display there is pretty, but for my location it’s not very informative. I’m in New Zealand. I look first to see what to expect from the wind, today and tomorrow, and Weather doesn’t tell me.
I used to use Meecast happily in Events view before Weather “took it over”.
I am not hugely fussed though will likely switch back to Meecast as it uses my country’s weather service in Australia
