Announcing SailfishOS-Chum-Gui 0.3

I removed Chum-GUI before updating my Xperia 10 ii - and had no issues. I tried to remove Chum-GUI on the Xperia 10 iii but somehow it did not work. And the update of the Xperia 10 iii stalled at 100%

So, your observations may be right …

I removed it before the upgrade and got stuck anyway so ymmv.

I was warned to remove CHUM before the 4.5 upgrade, along with deadbeef which I dutifully did.

It seems to be stalled now anyway :frowning:

So before I go for the hard reboot, how long should I wait?

I waited around 15min and everything worked out fine.

I did as well. It seems to have installed correctly. Sadly stuff is broken.

Maybe you can paste the content of /var/log/systemupdate.log here to find out, why it happened?

The whole log is around 800kb big, but this seems to be the relevant part, because after that the kernel-binder one repeats. Pastebin.com doesn’t take it, because it’s too big, if you know of another service, I’ll gladly upload it there.

Is there any way to request an application package from CHUM repository version update? I mean dnsmasq. There is a bug in version 2.86 for armv7hl arch.

Probably post an issue in the github/gitlab repo listed in the app in the chum gui. All packages in chum build from repos …

I’m afraid that this is an exception to the rule. Dnsmasq git repo there is at third party server. Should all packages build from github/gitlab repos it looks like a private mirror of dnsmasq git.

Can you specify which bug, and possibly a version where that is fixed (and ideally how it is fixed)?

Anyway, I have branched the chum version, bumped to latest (2.89 AFAICS) version and built it for arm. Can you confirm packages from here fix your problem?

The CHUM 2.86 compilation for arm gives a ‘config error is REFUSED (EDE: network error)’ error for DNs queries but compilation for arm64 works without issues. The version that works for me is the other available arm compilation from openrepos 2.76 version.
Unfortunately the 2.89 compilation for arm gives the same ‘config error is REFUSED (EDE: network error)’ error.

I’m not sure if this is just my somewhat flaky rephone, but I get:

[W] unknown:0 - Failed to refresh Chum repository “Failed to obtain authentication.”

when launching the gui. Is this someone else has seen?

EDIT: I think it’s the phone. There seem to be other network issues.

I get the same error.

Oh. Dear. Are you still on a 10ii ?

Nope, I’m on a X 10-3

Ok, thanks. Which version of chum gui? I noted that the same version 0.6.5 works on my GS5 but not on my rephone. The rephone seems to have some odd network issues so I was uncertain if it could just be that (jolla store seems odd on the rephone too).

EDIT: I think it’s not the app. I swapped sim cards between my phones, rebooted em both and now they both work. Sigh.

For me the normal repo works fine, whereas the testing repo doesn’t. Selecting the testing repo makes the GUI crash as soon as repositories get refreshed.

Me to! Testing repo makes the GUI crash as soon as repositories get refreshed.
I have to reinstall Chum-Gui, to get it back working normal repo.
Can we please have some info on this matter?
