DESCRIPTION:
For missed phone calls I usually have the SFOS Missed Call notification.
Sometimes there is another Missed Call entry under “Phone Calls”. This seems to be a AAS notification -it goes and comes when toggling AAS on/off.
More worrying, sometimes its the only missing call indicator.
I tend to correlate this with a double ring tone audible on income calls, which also happens +/- randomly. Like if both the SFOS Phone app and some other (Android?) app were awaken by the incoming call. Here’s a separate report for the double ringtone Ring tone seems to play two tracks at the same time when call comes in - #8 by rtr2001
I will try to experiment when the phone hits the condition and revert here.
Here’s a screenshot of the parasite entry/icon, under the legit one:
Clicking on it removes the notification without bringing any app in the foreground.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
No pattern to reproduce . Loosely, I correlate with fat Android apps usage prior to observing effects on SFOS behaviour.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
No Android involvement in call management EVER.

Hi, and thanks or using Bugger!
Do you have any apps installed which have to do with telephony, i.e. call apps?
What about other ones which support calls, like WhatsApp, Signal, …?
There’s whatsapp, you forced me to confess :-). I hoped it was confined (and still do) - no contacts, mike, camera access. Just texting.

Wot-sap is a virus only fit for spoofing phone applications. I still have my old ‘Robin B’stard’ spoofing phone, but no one ever wot sap’s me anymore since I moved over to SFOS and Telegram.

Well, I keep its usage as low as I can.
Private stuff goes on wire.
But there’s parents’ groups for school, sports etc - I have little leverage on their choices. Not being there would have consequences on my kids. I use a secondary -almost- throwable phone number for the WA account…
You could may be try giving them an incentive by telling them that if they want a prompt response they need to wire you. If they choose to wotsap you a response will take a little longer because for security reasons you are running it using a webapp in the browser, so no notifications, but you will get back to them when you get around to catching up. When I was using the spoofing phone I actually did run it in a browser using a web app, just not the same browser I used for browsing, effectively sandboxing it when the browser app was shut down after use.
The kids will soon get the idea but I expect the ‘grown-ups’ might take a little longer to get the hang of it if they are looking for instant response.
Thanks rtr2001 !
I never worried about it, but I have the exact same problem and I haven’t been able to find the cause!
Exactly the same hardware and software conditions, except for Patch Manager which is installed ((And WA for the family too.) + UI LANGUAGE: French (UK) (user: fr_FR, os: fr_FR.utf8)
