Android app Pace Drive: login via browser does not work [4.6.0.15]

HARDWARE: Sony Xperia 10 II

DESCRIPTION:

When using the android app Pace Drive (id=car.pace.drive) the registration/login process is directed to the browser. After register and login the redirct from Sailfish Broser does not work. The browser shows an error page

PRECONDITIONS:

AppSupport
Android app Pace Drive

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Open Pace Drive
  2. Got to Settings and click on “Login”
  3. The SailfishOS browser opens and you are invited to register or login
  4. Select “Login with email address” or “Register with email address”
  5. Enter email address
  6. enter password
  7. enter verification code you got via email

EXPECTED RESULT:

You are logged in in the android app

ACTUAL RESULT:

The browser shows an error page, stating it could not redirect.

It is basically the same for Android apps “Lidl Plus”, “Edeka”, “REWE”

It looks like you need to install an Android browser (e.g. Firefox) and try again. If that doesn’t work, you may have to set it as the default browser in Android (sorry, translated from Finnish on the fly):

  • Settings
  • Apps
  • Browser application (e.g. Firefox)
  • Open Android settings
  • Advanced (?)
  • Browser application (?)
  • Select the application

Thanks for the workaround. It works.
IMHO it is still a bug that it does not work with the OS browser.

The Sailfish browser of OS release 4.6.0.15 is based on the ESR78 Gecko engine. We will not fix any issues in it as the upcoming 5.0.0 release will contain the ESR91 Gecko.
