The internal backup / restore funtionality is unreliable.
PRECONDITIONS:
take a backup
try to restore on other device, same device with other firmware, …
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- take backup (e.g. 3.2.1)
- flash device with 4.x.x)
- restore backup
- take backup old device old firmware
- have new device new firmware
- restore backup
- …
EXPECTED RESULT:
backup is restored with all information
ACTUAL RESULT:
sometimes it works
often backup stops, some info may be restored or not
