AIRA heat pump native application

Hi all,

I wrote a native Sailfish app to control my Aira Home heat pump. It works on my
own unit, and before going further I’d like a few people with the same kind of
pump to tell me whether it behaves the same on theirs.

What it does today

  • home screen: house temperature and room temperature at the top, target with a
5-30 °C slider and a confirmation before sending (per zone)
  • domestic hot water: current temperature, target, boost on/off
  • plant status: outdoor/indoor temperature, operating mode, away / night /
manual mode, inline heater, errors, time of the last reading
  • an “Other commands” page: away mode, night mode for one hour, force heating,
heating function on/off, legionella cycle, DHW heating on/off, plant check
  • cover page with the house temperature

Not there yet: cooling (the bridge can do it, the UI can’t), schedules/curves,
firmware info. It is NOT in the Jolla Store: it’s an unofficial client talking
to Aira’s API with your own account, so I’m keeping it out of there.

The catch (please read before volunteering)
Sailfish’s Qt 5.6 cannot speak HTTP/2, and Aira’s API is HTTP/2-only, so the
phone cannot reach the cloud directly. The app therefore talks to a small HTTP
bridge I run on a Linux machine at home (one Python script, a systemd unit,
no database). So you would need:

  • a Sailfish phone,
  • an Aira heat pump with an account in the Aira app,
  • an always-on Linux box on the same LAN (a Raspberry Pi is plenty).

Your credentials stay on your machine: the bridge keeps them in a file only
your user can read and talks to Aira directly. Nothing goes through me, and
please do not send me your login.

What I’d like from testers

  • pump model and firmware versions (visible in the Aira app)
  • how many heating zones you have (1 or 2), and whether cooling is configured
  • which values or commands look wrong, and what the Aira app shows at the same
    moment
  • your country, since Aira may not expose the same fields in every market

Sources, build instructions and the RPM spec are here:

The app builds with sfdk like any Sailfish app; I don’t ship binaries for other
people’s devices, so you’d build it yourself.

Reply here or PM me. Thanks!

Who’s the other Carlo? If you used AI to develop this please be honest about it. Disclosure is likely to become a requirement soon anyhow.

I am Carlo AKA Kaneda or Kaneda_tux,

Gitea run on my own server so there is just two users one is a user and the other is the admin

Yes I’ve used AI, I’m still learning Sfos developement, as told in another post I’m a Flutter developer

Cheers

Thanks for the explanation. And being open about AI usage, at least after being asked about it.

No need to make it so complicated…
You could have made the app in Python (PyOtherSide) - or used cURL as the HTTP library if you prefer C(++).

Hi Carlo. I have no heat pump to test with, but since there are no positive posts yet, I wanted to say thanks for your effort.

Good point!

Thanks, this is the power of the community
