After Whatsapp call its UI can't be started again until phone is restarted

BUILD ID = OS VERSION (Settings > About product): 3.4.0.22
HARDWARE (Jolla1, Tablet, XA2,…): xperia x
UI LANGUAGE: finnish
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?): no

DESCRIPTION:

when I have WA running and I get a WA call (the phone does not wake up other than the sound) after I manange to answer, I can’t make the WA ui to run anymore. It stays in active on the desktop but to make it interactive/active is not possible until phone is restarted.

PRECONDITIONS:

Whatsapp is running normally on the desktop, a whatsapp call is answered.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Start whatsapp
  2. ask a friend to call you to it
  3. answer to the whatsapp call

EXPECTED RESULT:

Whatsapp returns to the state it was before replying to the call

ACTUAL RESULT:

Whatsapp can’t be started anymore

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

(Please ALWAYS attach relevant data such as logs, screenshots, etc…) This has been a problem since atleast v. 2.x of Sailfish

Works correctly on Xperia 10. But it has Android 8.1 App Support in contrast to 4.4 of Xperia X. That may make the difference.

I have the same issue.
To restart WA you can go into Settings->Apps->WhatsApp and then click on Force stop and Clear cache. Restarting WA should then work.

Hi @Nrde,

I have the same issue on the same device. Yet rather then restarting the phone I just restart the Android App Support, works fine.

Can I close this report? I do not think the bug is valid on 4.5.0.24.

I think it would be, but as WA doesn’t work on xperia x phones anymore it’s kind of moot.

I don’t have any more recent devices so hard to tell if it works properly on those.
