Please add such switcher for faster selecting needed cellular network mode.
Many people don’t really need 5G and 4G for all day use, 3G or 2G only is enough. But SAR (radio waves through our heads) on 4G is higher, battery drain faster.

3G and 2G networks are being decommissioned in a lot of countries now and over the next few years as focus is shifted to 4G and 5G only.

Sure, i know it, the process was started and continues. But we still have “few years” to live on 3G.
And 2G will be NOT deactivated, because too many devices (not phones) are working on this type of network in whole world.
Well, this, I’m sure will vary country to country as to timing. Here in the UK 3G has basically now gone. There is only limited 2G now supported as well by a very few telcos - and this will be also all gone in the next 4 years … probably about the time Jolla will take to deliver your enhancement request!

In Germany 2G and 4G are pretty ok (for my provider), but 3G is entirely gone

I think this is a typical case for a patch. Usually you never need such switcher. When the phone is working normally in 4G/5G Network, you don’t have a need to switch to 2G.
Me personally and many other Xperia 10 II/III SF-users need such switch because i can send SMS only from 2G Network.
