(5.0.0.67) wireguard makes my phone reboot

REPRODUCIBILITY: always
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.67
HARDWARE: XA2
UI LANGUAGE: italian
REGRESSION: don’t know, wireguard wasn’t working for me in 5.0.0.62

DESCRIPTION:

wireguard makes my phone reboot, about some minutes after wireguard is enabled phone freezes for a second then reboot

PRECONDITIONS:

a wireguard account is needed, no problems with openvpn instead

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. configure a wireguard vpn
  2. enable it and wait some minutes
  3. phone will reboot in minutes

EXPECTED RESULT:

i was expecting for wireguard to work and not to reboot my phone

ACTUAL RESULT:

wireguard is actually working this time (as in 5.0.0.62 wasn't working) but it makes my phone reboot, it rebooted like three times in 20 minutes

MODIFICATIONS:

the usual storeman and chum

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

wireguard wasn’t working at all in 5.0.0.62, now it’s working but makes my xa2 reboot, and i think that’s the culprit as it does not reboot without or with openvpn
