I had that once. Restarting Android support solved the problem. Xperia 10 III, 5.0.0.62
Restart App Support or restart device doesn’t solve it on my Xperia 10III.
Works for me, some differences to your phone:
- en_GB locale
- I have the 10iii camera switched on (so, you can control the 3 lenses)
- No Patchmanager
- No OpenRepos
I’ll add that on App Support it works better than expected, as it gives me access to the so-called “selfie” camera and the one at the back of the phone, whereas on the Camera application I can only use the one at the back.
It might help if you gave us a couple of applications that you’re using to launch the camera - I did a quick test with Whatsapp.
How did you turn on the camera without a patch? I only have a patch to turn on and control the 3 lenses.
In the bug report above, I mentioned a few apps where the camera does not work.
If you have the patch, then it’s the same as I do, so no difference there.
I hadn’t noticed that, I see that WhatsApp doesn’t work for you, but does for me, so I’m afraid that I can’t reproduce.
Working fine for me on my 10III in Threema and Signal. However, sometimes camera usage breaks with an Android popup message (something along the lines of “cannot access camera hardware”), at least under SFOS 4.x. Restarting Android did fix it. Haven’t used it much under 5.x as my call function is currently broken.
Specs:
- de_DE locale
- multiple camera patch activated (how can we actually tell which camera is used at which time?)
- Patchmanager installed
- OpenRepos in use
