[5.0.0.43] Restoring of Backup takes very long

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100 %
OS VERSION: 5.0.0.43
HARDWARE: C2
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: not sure

DESCRIPTION:

Restoring a backup takes very long if big files are part of the Backup. E.g. restoring a big Video takes very, very long.

PRECONDITIONS:

System backup, in my case from a Xperia 10 III with SFOS 4.5.0.16 with a very big Video (3 GB) in the ~/Videos/ folder.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. Load Backup on SD-Card and insert SD in C2
  2. Start restoring the Backup from the UI
  3. You can observe the file being transferred very slow with e.g. ls -l

EXPECTED RESULT:

Reasonable time to get it finished or some more indication about “something” is going on.

ACTUAL RESULT:

No progress indication in UI, and much more patience needed than 24h.

MODIFICATIONS:

None

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

I also experienced this bug on my C2, but never on Xperia10ii.

I experienced that the unzipping of archives bigger than ~500MB is not possible with the embedded tools on my device (XA2 Ultra with SFOS 4.6, but also for earlier versions). Using an Android App does work for bigger files. Maybe this is related.

From my observation for the backup it works with files >500 MB, just sooooo slow. And also they seem not to be really “compressed” in the backup .tar file.
@sausset observed (and i think I can observe the same) that it is a little faster, when there is e.g. the Browser running while restoring the backup (you can keep it active with playing a video or audio stream), as the cores 6 and 7 of the CPU are active then, but it still is super slow.
