[4.6.0.13] Xperia XA2 Dual sim, network denied after update

Not sure what to make of this, have my usual sim card in the phone, updated to 4.6, the sim is not connecting at all. if I manually search for the networks I see them and I can select them, however it fails.

Sim works fine in another phone.
Carrier is Docomo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve had this issue on my XA2 Plus - both before 4.6 and after it. Dual SIM support can be flakey on SFOS but there is usually a way of getting it working. I get mine working through trial and error, usually by doing one or more of the following:

  • Re-booting the phone
  • Swapping the SIMs over in their slots (and then rebooting the phone)
  • Disabling and re-enabling the SIMs (one, or the other, or both) in the settings app
  • Disabling and re-enabling mobile data in the settings (on one SIM, or the other SIM, or both) - although why mobile data settings should affect the ability for a SIM to connect to make non VoLTE phone calls I don’t know

I don’t know why this failure sometimes occurs - for me it just happens randomly and very occasionally. Luckily, and so, far, doing one or more of the above has always fixed things for me. I am in the UK, my two SIMs being ‘3’ and ‘EE’.

Thanks, I tried all of the above and nothing. Tried multiple times and rebooted more times than i can count lol. Just in case, even if the phone is dual sim I am in a single sim configuration. Before the update I always used slot 1 with slot 2 disabled.
