Entering the same information (same e-mail address and password) in the Settings - Accounts - Add account - General email works.

Works like a charm for me (4.3.0.12/X10ii). I am able to sign in to my IMAP account.

UPDATE: works well on 4.3.0.12/XA2, too. So it is not totally broken.

Yeah, working for me (not)

Devices are both 32bit X and XA2 (free SFOS)

Is this different from: Setting up General Email (IMAP, SMTP) fails ?

It seems different: it only occurs when setting up the account from the Mail app, while setting up from the Settings app works OK.

Right. Only now I get/read this issue properly. Yes indeed, signing in to an email account from the pulley of the Email app fails (or lasts “forever”). But it works from Settings > Accounts, fortunately.

Internal bug filed. Sigh.

Thank you for reporting!
