[4.2.0.21] [Xperia 10ii] black screen always when the keyboard is brought up

REPRODUCIBILITY (% or how often): 100% of the time
BUILD ID = OS VERSION (Settings > About product): 4.2.0.21
HARDWARE (XA2, X10, X10 II, …): x10ii
UI LANGUAGE: english
REGRESSION: (compared to previous public release: Yes, No, ?): yes, i cant use my phone without a keyboard. its now a brick.

DESCRIPTION:

after i installed the update using devel-su > ssu re 4.2.0.21 > version --dup > reboot, i installed the predictive keyboard and storeman newest installer, at first i had the keyboard working but after rebooting when i saw that the predictive keyboard doesn’t work i no longer have keyboard at all but full blackscreen whenever i open a keyboard.

PRECONDITIONS:

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. open notes\internet browser\sms\etc and press on a place you can type anything in

EXPECTED RESULT:

keyboard poping up

ACTUAL RESULT:

black screen

what logs should i post and where to get them from?

Do you have OKBoard installed and activated? Uninstall it until it gets updated to work with SFOS 4.2.

i have never used it.

i’ve uninstalled a local-language keyboard i’ve been using for years and now i don’t have a black screen or keyboard at all
now android app support died completely too

phone bricked. i’m now reinstalling sfos

I have something similar: no reaction at all when the keyboard should pop up

Can either of you (@rob_kouw @windir) reproduce this bug?

This was a long time ago. My X10ii is working good enough to act as a daily driver. Problem solved, I’d say.

no i installed android shortly after and hated my life ever since.
