DESCRIPTION:
After new android update ( included in sail 4.2 ) whole system and all apps seems smoother and faster even youtube while moving around in app but videos which have 1080p or higer quality are laggy and seems like playing in 5-10fps.
After setting up lower quality, videos are fine. I did install few versions of youtube ( 64 bit only. I am using youtube premium if that matters ) and rebooted device but didn’t factory reset it. I didn’t test any other app which can play higher quality videos. Before 4.2 update, I could easly play 1440p videos lagless.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
- Turn on mobile data / wifi.
- Open youtube app.
- Open any video in 1080p or higer quality.
EXPECTED RESULT:
Video playing smooth.
ACTUAL RESULT:
Videos are very laggy.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
I am not using builded in android store = aptoide. I am downloading every apk file from apkmirror. Native browser can easly play 1440p videos really smooth or 2160p videos with a little lag ( from my server ). Youtube videos in native browser can only be played in 720p max.
