[4.0.1.45] Android background service not running?

REPRODUCIBILITY: 100%
BUILD ID = OS VERSION: 4.0.45
HARDWARE: Sony XA2
UI LANGUAGE: German
REGRESSION: yes

DESCRIPTION:

Threre is no notification from Android apps as long as they are in background. Only Whatsapp is working properly.

PRECONDITIONS:

Install an android app (e.g. elements or delta chat). Give all permissions for running in the bachground. Close the app and send a message to the app. There is no notification as long as the app is closed.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

  1. See section above

EXPECTED RESULT:

App should give a notification (sound, icon, LED)

ACTUAL RESULT:

Nothing happens unless the app is opened manually

Here is another hint: Sharing a picture from the SFOS gallery to Android is impossible (see screenshot)

Have a look at this thread: Aliendalvik not Running when trying to share via an Android application

AlienDalvik is probably running and working correctly. It’s just AlienDalvik Control that’s broken since the update to 4.0.1.
