Word Suggestion not Working with Jolla C2

Hello Friends,

i am new to the Jolla/Sailfish Community after using Android for more than a Deacade. I bought a Jolla C2 about a month ago to Support the European Market, and i am tired of haveing the same Smartphone again and again.

My Problem is, that i cant get the Word Suggestion to Work.

i found a Solution, but this did not work for me. i cant login to Download the -XT9 thing(My Jolla Account didnt do the trick…).

Would someone be so kind and make me a Step-by-Step Guide to make it work in 2025? Since i am new to Sailfish/Linux i realy need help with the Terminal and all its commands. I am a PLC-Software Dev, so i have a basic understanding of what the the Terminal is doing.

it would be realy great if someone could help me, since my Wife makes fun of me every day for not having Word Suggestions :wink:

If the is a Step-by-Step Guide i have not found, please just share the link.

There is no official word suggestion available on the c2. You could try presage from openrepos.

Thank you for the info.I found “Presage” on Chum GUI. I Installed it, but i cant see any word Suggestions. Can you, or someone else, provide me with a step by Step guide?

There’s no package called exactly “Presage” on Chum - so what did you install? AFAIR you also need a package specific to your language/keyboard. And maybe change something in Settings => System => Text Input? Probably also restart Lipstick (“Homescreen” in Utilities afair) or even reboot.

(My license includes SFOS’ own predictive text engine so this is mostly theoretical)

I love using OKBoard - native “swype” app.
Test that out…

For c2 you need the fork, but it incl. text completion

But this also implies having a dictionary of the language you write in.

and there are some already there and ot is possible to create your own with some googeling doodeling
