Oui Sailfish Community News, 5th December 2024 - The Next C2 Batch

Summary: The recent Support Days were a success, with meaningful discussions and great community engagement. Jolla also saw strong interest in Mind2 after Slush. Sony released new binary blobs for the Sony Xperia 10 IV and 10 V. However, users should wait for an update from Jolla before flashing the new blobs.

Repairs for the community device Jolla C2 are progressing, though customs issues between the EU, Norway, Switzerland, and the UK have caused problems. Jolla thanks for the patience.

Jolla is also launching a Community Coordination team in January, and those who haven’t completed their Jolla C2 payments are encouraged to do so. A second batch of 1000 devices will be available soon.

I’m also putting up my C2 for sale. I received it two weeks ago and used it for a bit but I actually like the Xperia 10 form factor and the C2 is just too big and clunky for me. I’ll keep using my 10 III and then upgrade to a 10 V.

It’s not totally clear what the maths for the price are with the €50 voucher so I’ll ask €299 + shipping for it like others have.

I live in Delft, The Netherlands so if you are able to pick it up to check it that will be even better.

There are probably app developers that have a better use for the device than me, I will keep using the Librem 5 instead, I was hoping the C2 could do what the L5 can but not in my case.

Mine is for sale as well I used it <10days, but due to no openvpn and mobile data issues in the US it won’t be of much use to me.

The easiest is probably once i agreed to the sale to have a check or even cash sent, then on receipt i will send it to the address provided. I have to figure out if there is a shipping service that allows sending of devices with batteries.

Happy New Year to all of you!
I would like to offer my C2 for 220€ including shipping (only inside the EU, because I wouldn’t like to deal with toll/VAT whatever :wink: )
I would put the screen protector (not applied yet) and the case from Jolla inside the package.
I only used the phone to test VoLTE and didn’t use it as daily driver.

I didn’t flash the larger partitions yet, but I would do so before I send it.

Note: I am not selling my account, so the proprietary bits are not included. I can ask Zendesk to transfer the license, but I can’t guarantee that they will do it.

I will sell mine to, the 10 III is much more suitable for me as of right now.
