Has this been resolved for everyone? Viber (v 17.1.0.6) still won’t start for me on my Xperia 10 Plus Dual SIM running 4.3.0.15. Upon launching, the logo shows up on a white background, then after around 15 seconds, it changes to a black screen and nothing happens. I’ve granted access to storage, contacts, phone, etc. in Android support.
The mentioned microG magic worked for me - and tbh I have not upgraded Viber since then…

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, in my case, microG didn’t resolve it even though it passed all the checks. On a related note, kudos to @DrYak on his thorough how-to!

What does activation SMS not received mean? You installed Viber, then it sent you an SMS that you never received?
In this case, the problem is not related to Sailfish, nor to this bug report.
