Sony Nagara (Xperia 1IV and 5IV) port

Over the weekend the docs on building LOS21 and SFOS have been updated in our wiki. With updated repos and added scripts, it should be easier to build it.

Let us know if someone will go for it and we will be happy to help.

My model turned out to be the Japanese SOG09 and not xq-cq54, so I guess I might be the one to try if it will work. Might need help while doing so.

According to PhoneDB, the differences are only in some bands and SOG09 has FM radio.

Could happen. Start by testing it in original Android as a daily driver for few days.

And you can prepare already space for LOS21 build - it requires ~310GB storage and probably significant RAM. Already pulling sources would take some time.

Is it unlockable, the bootloader I mean?

The seller assured it wasn’t locked. Didn’t test yet.

I guess I don’t need to update to some Android version before flashing LOS?

You should update to the latest version first. It would take a while, but is needed for updates to firmware and other bits.

I don’t want to interrupt the build discussion for the SOG09 variant.
I managed to get a refurbished xq-cq54 after first receiving a SOC09 variant which I will return.

I’m definitely interested to try the 5 Iv port but I need some Android apps in order to replace my current daily driver (10 III with Sailfish). Is there any hope to get waydroid build for the X 5IV port?.
So before switching the 5 IV to Sailfish I would gain some understanding about the waydroid support.

Sellers often do not comprehend the difference between sim lock and bootloader lock, sadly

And just like that - the bootloader is not unlockable. Now to try return it.

Yes, I expected that. Apparently it is a general policy of Sony to not allow bootloader unlock for japanese models

SOG09 variants can be found cheaper and be used as spare-parts source for XQ variants

Just passing by to ask for which model of Xperia 1 IV should we watch for?

EDIT: According to board info in the repo, two 1 IV models are supported: XQ-CT54 and XQ-CT72. Can you confirm?

In a quick turn of events, I’m now an owner of a rather new XQ-CT54. The other one goes to my daughter.

There is always a hope. I am not working on it at this moment and will prioritize other issues ahead of waydroid. That’s including trying to get qtwebengine 6x working on nagara and sfos in general.

I have XQ-CT54. But I think it should be relatively simple to make it work for XQ-CT72 and I’ll be happy to help you.

Now you would have to update it to the latest Stock Android and test it before unlocking.

Already did, seems to work.

to reduce size and download time somewhat you can use repo init command with
--depth=1
(or sync? can remember exactly. maybe works for both commands)

Or is the 310 gb already with depth=1? if so please ignore post

I didn’t use depth=1 in my checkout. note that 310 GB includes also the build itself, not just sources.

Hmm, XperiFirm seems to have stopped working after Sony changed their search API. Any idea how can I download the stock firmware in order to extract the blobs?

You don’t need to extract the blobs, we extracted and uploaded them already. Follow the manual on our Wiki  . or something is missing in our docs?
