Yes you have, you can switch to a different bank ![]()
Please don’t waste time on yet more coping mechanisms (and especially don’t demand Jolla does it too). If nobody ever switches away from services because everything is “critical”, how can we ever achieve real change?
Thank you for the links. Installing Chum or Storeman seems much to complicated for me, so I will wait for now with that and do with Jolla, F-DROID and Aurora.
There’s a guide for Sailfish OS written by olf which clearly explains how to install Storeman and Chum GUI. It’s not that difficult. It would give you access to many more native applications than what’s available through the Jolla Store alone.
Haven’t done it for a while, but it should actually be very easy:
-
Go to your settings > Foreign software and activate foreign sources.
-
Open your browser and visit this link:
Storeman Installer | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System -
Download the newest RPM at the bottom of the page.
-
Open the downloaded file (right after the download finished there is a small banner telling you it downloaded fully. Just click on it and let it install)
-
After that go to the newly installed Storeman app and search for “Chum GUI” or go here:
SailfishOS:Chum GUI Installer | OpenRepos.net — Community Repository System -
Install it.
Now you have two more app stores, StoreMan and Chum:GUI.
Best regards

I’ve always wondered why Chum and Storeman don’t have a staged installer in the Jolla Store.
It’s clearly possible to have apps in the Store that then install random RPMs, as the Situations app demonstrates, which installs a daemon that then happily runs as root.
That would be way more convenient than having to hunt for the right version of Chum and Storeman every time.
Thank you. Your description worked and was easy to follow.
Happy to hear that. ![]()
Have fun with them, there are a lot of apps to explore there.
