SFOS ≥ 4.6 (Foreca / MeeCast): How to (re-)enable weather infos in Events View

Since the last update of Meecast (incl. daemon and event-view), the event-view doesn’t update the actual weather condition. After reboot or after restarting the start screen it is up to date, but it doesn’t update without doing so.

The version was 1.12.17-1.30.1.bso. To make sure, that I didn’t mixed up the sources, I uninstalled all three components, but then I wasn’t able to install them again, neither from Chum nor from OpenRepos. It always claimed, that the event-view package ist not available.

Then I set Chum to version 4.6 and I could install all three components (same version as above, but ending with .jolla).

The result is the same, event-view does not date the data up.

Running 5.0.0.77 on a C2. Any hints welcome.

I can confirm that Meecast eventview is not updating anymore (Xperia 10iii, latest everything)

Same for me on Xperia 10 V.

..and all locations and settings were reset to default.

I had the same problem with the latest Meecast update. Downgrading back to older versions of all components fixed it.

I feel I have same issue.

Yep, if you have Crash Reporter installed, you’d discover meecast_predaemon is continously crashing.

Same here. Events view not updated for several days now.

I can confirm that on my C2, downgrading the daemon helps. Now weather updates and visibility in event view is back :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

How to do this? Via a manual installation?

Manual works - Openrepos site or via Storeman or Chum. Just match the version number across the three apps.

I un-installed Meecast daemon Storeman App, then downloaded the previous rpm version from Openrepos site and installed it. And finally, rebooted the phone.

New versions are out 1.12.18 and they work a treat!

I’ve installed the latest 1.12.18.1 updates for all three parts (app, daemon, eventview) from Openrepos, but the events view is still not updating for me. If I reboot or restart the home screen, or delete and re-add the location in the app it does update, but only once and never again.

Downgrading to version 1.11.21-1 + a reboot fixed the issue at my side.

Following yesterday upgrade, I downgraded the daemon to 1.12.14-1 + restarted home screen and it worked

No need to go back further than 1.12.16 - that works fine

I was only refering to the daemon and have no other choice for a working version :wink:
