Revolut fails loading since 7.22 version (27 october 2020)

It’s actually more possible it’s Android 12 base that makes the difference than SF, MicroG or Revolut version. I doubt the Aurora Store version could make a difference either.

You never installed Magisk/Zygist or Gapps?

I really appreciate your help. Stupidly, I still have all my money in this bank and my debit card has gone AWOL too.

No, i have not installed any of those apps.

I had the same idea to gave up all my cards but Revolut. Now this and my troubles with face recognition during registering new app proves that was bad idea. Revolut is very poor and unrelable service.

I installed the 2nd to last version of TB Checker (have to edit installer source) and it passes its root check.

I read elsewhere that this Revolut message isn’t necessarily about an unlocked bootloader. I changed the installer for Revolut as well but it didn’t help.

TB Checker does complain about (Google) Play Integrity (error code -9): CANNOT_BIND_TO_SERVICE

This may be due to MicroG reporting as an old version of Google Play or the new Integrity system.

Revolut 10.51.1 still works for me on X10II with MicroG 0.3.6.244735 but started keep asking for update. So it looks like it is not going to work for long time.
Strongly suggest everyone to move your money somwhere else.

I’ve updated Revolut to 10.60.1 last week and seems to work ok for me. I have not done anything special with my system, my microG version is 0.3.3.240913, i run sfos 4.6.0.15 on 10iii which was flashed on top of android v12 (60.1.A.0.675).

10.51.1 is really old (compared to the versions I’ve been talking about). Can you give me the Play Store build number a la 1005605917?

10.58.2 is the oldest I’ve tried since getting this error. It behaves differently (just crashes out before getting to the login screen [with no data]).
It seems likely that Revolut 10.58.3 is detecting something on my phone that it’s been programmed to detect as a security risk. Thing is, there’s roughly nothing on my phone other than Google Lens & Home (for translation of text on camera). I barely bothered messing with it.

I guess I can try uninstalling/reinstalling App Support first, rather than trying to install Android 12 base.

10.51.1 is 1005104693

Tip: You can look it up using apkmirror. Example https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/revolut-ltd/revolut-better-than-your-bank/variant-{“minapi_slug”%3A"minapi-24"}/, go to 2nd page where you’ll find 10.51.1, and it will be listed alongside the version on the page for the build. If there are other variants that have different IDs, you can see them towards the bottom on the variant section.

According to Revolut is blocking new logins from Android distributions that aren't certified by Google, incl. GrapheneOS - Privacy - Privacy Guides Community, 10.56.2 may also work, which is build 1005605917. This is a bit newer of a release (November 30th).

This one doesn’t complain about a rooted device, to my surprise. When trying to log in, it tells me to update.

Yes, I think a bit of lobbying might be in order. To block out GrapheneOS in particular when Android’s store alone is full of malware is insane (never mind PureAPK etc).

10.56.2 may also work, which is build 1005605917. This is a bit newer of a release (November 30th).

Weirdly, also produces the Rooted screen screen now, whereas it just crashed before.

10.56.2 says Rooted.
10.56.1 says update.

So there is (now?) no gap if I need to log in. The log-in/re-verification process is presumably what’s saying I need to update. Older users are already logged in.

My options now, in order of ease are:
a) Un/Re-install App Support.
b) figure out what’s triggering the Rooted status
c) figure out how to get the data to work
d) buy a cheap Android phone
e) hack the code

Many thanks for everyone’s help. This has been stressing me out for a while now.

I’m aware of this. I have learned the hard way not to update banking apps as long as it is possible and forced to.

ON C2 is even worse - Revolut now detects that it is running in emulator ;(;(;(

You have MicroG running and passing all its checks?

What’s the error message? Is this your first attempt to use the app on the C2? There are checks in the authorisation process that would not happen if you already passed it on this phone.

As for my problem and as stated in the other thread, uninstalling App Support wasn’t enough. It did seemingly nothing to either the LXC container nor my Android apps.

MicroG is running and passing all checks. There is no error per-ce simply on revolut startup first thing you see is - Revolut detected running on emulator with QR code below and there is just close button ;(
I tried 1 month ago message was the same, now updated revolut to latest - still it detects emulator ;(

Which version of MicroG? Which version of Sailfish?

Have you tried Huawei AppGallery store Revolut version? Apps from Huawei store doesn’t require any of google crap.

Sailfish 5.0.0.43 microg 0.3.4.240913. Message - This app cannot be used on emulator. Please use official device

Still complains about root. Might help tomoshokas.

Here’s the real URL btw.

@tomoshokas Can only really suggest uninstalling MicroG and reinstalling it.

Revolut was working fine for me since I’ve updated to 10.61.x, now even reverting to older issues it does not work any more. I am not aware I changed anything that would trigger such behaviour.

Strange installation of latest revolut on my old XA2 which is now flashed back to android 9 seems to work (at least the login page), also bear in mind XA2 once unlocked cannot relock the bootloader.

Maybe I should try Monzo.

And… for me it stopped working with 10.61.

Same as you worked flawlessy with 10.60.1 and before on 10III.

The error: “this app can’t run because the environment is not secure”

Trying to downgrade now.

edit: downgrade just results in rooted device at the login

Anyone tried running it with a PC emulator (a real one, not the C2 lol)? When I had an N9 I used to use an android emulator for the “mandatory” apps…
